Went out with Rachel on Friday, dunno for what, but i think the primary motive was to get Bernice's Bernice!!! Armed with a camera, we walked around town and took a bunch of random shots, watched Zombieland (funny!), ate Korean BBQ (nice!) and went to Clarke Quay just to chill. Nothing much, typical day/night out but the funny thing was bumping into Jeevan at Central. Obviously intoxicated, he was more talkative than usual hahahaha . Now Jeevan is certainly a character.. This is the guy who applied to be a bartender in some restaurant and when the guy asked him, "Do you have any experience?" He said, "YES"(obviously not) . He justified that technically he isnt lying because mixing drinks for his friends under the void deck counts as experience HAHAHA. So obviously we hear a couple of funny stories throughout our time with him.

Yeap, the next day was... Bernice's SURPRISE!!! Not much of a surprise, because Rachel had to check whether she'll be at home, so she asked her what time we could come. AND, we initially wanted to appear 2 hours before the time allocated, but Rachel lost her way to Bernice's house despite going there before!!! DIRECTION IDIOT!!! Yeah after getting clues from mas, colleen etc (everyone gave a different landmark, we just had to play sherlock holmes to piece together) WE STILL COULDNT FIND IT. So rachel called bernice for her exact address... Thats damn retarded. I bet Bernice wasnt surprised at all, despite Rachel saying "eh we'll be abit late". Nevermind at least Bernice's Bernice arrived in one piece!

Hahahaha. After posting an ad last week, i had an amazing response actually. It makes me wonder though, because its sooo easy for these people to just sms some random dude claiming to play guitar and arrange for a day for him to visit their respective houses. Hmmmm... Lucky for them, i turn out to be a nice guy AND maybe, a dependable guitar tutor hahahaha.
Yep, work is not bad actually. But there's no fixed income, so its quite weird, cos i'll never know whether i will have money next week hahahaha. And lessons are usually 1 hour only, so its not that tiring but the journey to and fro is a different thing. One of the guys lives in Boon Lay so its quite crazy, thank god for MRT (which gives me headaches). AND i can set my own off-days hahahahahahaha. Which is funny and cool. This beats working in carrier like a labour dog from 7.30am to 5.30pm which required me to wake up at 5.30am excluding overtime which could stretch till 9pm and cause me to reach home at 10pm. Thinking about it gives me the shivers hahaha. |

Like my 27th October 2008 post, im gonna my top 7 songs of 2009!! hahahaahaha this is purely so that i can look back and laugh at my music tastes like how i did when i look back at last years post.
In no particular order!
1 . Between The Buried and Me - Obfuscation (progressive metal/mathcore, country, whatever, death metal)
Yep this guys play country music AND death metal and usually in the SAME song. Siao. Not recommended for most people, but most of my technical musician friends love this band as much as I do. Anyway, this song seriously defines BTBAM. It has the heavy, messy parts which perfectly complements the slow and more melodic part. The vocals in here are awesome too, in my opinion.
2. Sikth - Bland Street Bloom (progressive metal/mathcore, whatever, death metal)
Holy cow. Just when i thought BTBAM was technical. Sikth destroys everything with this song. Odd-timed signatures, a guitar tapping melody and a wicked dissonant breakdown! HOW THE HELL DID THEY DO ALL THIS?!
3. Muse - Exogenesis (all 3 parts) (rock/classical/progressive rock)
Matt Bellamy is seriously talented. The fusion of classical and rock music is ultimately well done unlike Dream Theater and Metallica's attempt which sounds like ROCK MUSIC + orchestra, where the orchestra is some extra shit. Exogenesis is seriously a masterpiece because the band AND the orchestra, complements each other. Matt Bellamy's operatic vocals are perfect in here as well.
4. Between the Buried and me - Backwards Marathon (progressive metal/mathcore, country, whatever, death metal)
This song is favourite just for its middle section. For all the growling and stuff that vocalist Tommy Rogers do, i wouldnt expect him to sing that well!!!! Holy cow man, and did he sing. All the prog-rockers who listens to Dream Theater or Iron Maiden would say, "ehh but he wouldnt be able to reach James Labrie's high F# or Bruce Dickinsons high whatever i think its a G" but no. That man REACHED the high F#, seamlessly and seemingly without effort. 2 seconds after that high note, he returns to growling. WTH
Watch that F SHARP!!!
5. Muse - Uprising (poprock/rock/synthrock)
Wahhhh this song is too catchy for its own good. hahahaha. Its a basic, typical muse song, but man its effective. I especially love the guitar riff after the 2nd chorus! wooo~
6. Arctic Monkeys - The Jewellers hands (indie/experimental/rock)
This song is sooo nice. The bassline is addictive and complements the guitar's tremolo picking. I love this song man ahaha.
7. Shiina Ringo's entire discograpy (pop/big band/poprock/jazzrock/electronic/bossanova/avantgarde whatever that means)
I think i officially became a fanboy after i bought her latest CD. Its damn good that when i start listening to the first song, i would listen to the whole thing!!!! And after im done with her solo album, i'd move on to Tokyo Jihen, which is her side-band. Equally awesome as well. EVERYTHING that she does is amazing, there's no filler songs and such. AND its hard to pick my favourite Shiina Ringo song because whenever i try to listen to my favourite song of that particular day (by watching her DVD), i ended up watching more songs.

Yay finally! hahaha. Yeah i know im slow. Anyway, thought after a week of playing, i'd be glad to study for physics MCQ, but apparently, I'm not. Cos physics really sucks, the J2 topics especially talking about nonsense such as electrons and photons. Things that are too small to comprehend. So glad its all over.

Hahaha after the carrier days in late 2007, i dont feel like working. During the carrier days, i work 6 days a week, woke up at 5.30 and reach home at 7pm if its normal day and 10 pm if its overtime. NO LIFE!!! hahahaha actually it sounds like school. But its damn bad cos we only have a total of 45 mins break? in a freaking day!!! The pay is good, can sustain a household kinda pay but its ridiculous man! After all that lost of freedom, only to come back to PJ and be lost in a sea of notes and books, i think im gonna spend this holidays SLACKING woooo!
But there's a dilemma, wheres my money gonna come from?!!! And all that upcoming jammings and stuff! Sigh. So i guess i should give guitar/bass lessons or indulge in a world of internet marketing hahahaha.

Not really, still have one hour mcq to do!! =.= Pull up my physics paper 2 which is CRAP!!! Went out with the JARS team on sunday to Anime Festival Asia in suntec hahahahahahahahahah. Yeah, paid 12 bucks to see a bunch of geeky people dress up as robots, blue haired ppl and other nonsense. Nevermind, as long as Japhet's happy but turns out he was not. He was disappointed as well! hahahahaha moral of the story, lets stop spending money like water and sit at home play ps3
Songwriting with epic is not going well. Cancelled 2 songwriting sessions which is bloody annoying. Maybe i'll just have to write by myself and not wait for them to get their shit together and prioritise well. Oh well. Another day of doing nothing at home. |

Math history GP is insane. Studying last minute and discovering you didnt know something is crazier! And working like a dog all the way till 3.30am in order to salvage something is worst. Frankly, i went into A levels thinking/predicting that i'll fail hahahahaha so there's no pressure!!! Glad the first week is over!! Then again....
Friday is amazing. hahaha went to meet up with epic on fri night to de-stress and catch a movie : Paranormal activity!!! Sooo much anticipation and hype from this one (especially from credible film buffs =O) I'll describe the movie for you guys
Beginning : Ooo handheld.. okok no need for extra story its so freaking dull!! GET TO THE SCARE
Around the beginning : Aiyo... like that only??? Not scary sia... BRING ON THE NEXT NIGHT
Middle : What...?! Thats insane !!!!! *screams* please dont bring on the next night
Ending : FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU------ HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yeap. awesome movie i tell you especially if you get into and BELIEVE the movie is real . of course its not la hahahaha. My friends were all freaking out, and they entered the movie as skeptics and laughing at every single shit. Not rachel though, she'll watch the movie through her shawl from the get-go hahaha girls. It got so crazy towards the end that i was hoping for nighttime NOT to come hahahaha. Yeah and the lack of gore and shock (moments) is so damn refreshing for the horror genre ! And I began to appreciate the dullness of the first few mins cos its as though the movie is screaming to us,

I will start diving into my notes and studies tomorrow. Been spending too much time on Burnout, Fallout 3, Metal Gear Solid, and one night on song writing. Now that i've upgraded my license to class A in burnout, im more or less satisfied with my gaming progress so now there's nothing between the buried(studies) and me!! So to further emphasise on my will to study. This shall be my last blog post. I had an awesome dream. After the last paper was over (physics), me and rachel went to the zoo for fun!! hahahaha. Considering the zoo is very close to school, (in a way the school is a zoo cos its full of monkeys), i think dreams can turn to reality!!! hahahahaha hint hint*

One of the most anticipated albums of 2009. Its release date was 27th October 2009 so i have 5 days till i can buy and listen to the album officially!!! hahahaha . BUT the freaking leak is so tempting and i've already heard 3 songs!! Blown away on my first listen, only to be reincarnated and blown away again after repeated listens. I was on my way to a hospital on an ambulance as paramedics struggled to figure out why i disintegrated without any form of physical contact. Upon putting me back together, i told them the reason why and i showed them this album
Needless to say, i had to flag for a cab home cos they all exploded there and then and crashed the ambulance into a tree. Dang. Made it back home on time for my bro's birthday dinner and happy birthday bro!! Middle-age guy. He's not even a boy anymore. Yeah the age of 25 sounds so sucky. And i cant believe im gonna reach that age in 6 years time. Its ok asyraft, your paranoia about aging will eventually disappear like all those paranoia that you had when you were young (paranoid about the end of the world in 99, NS, sleeping in the dark, graduating from secondary school, being paranoid about cats(!!!!), not doing homework, coming late to school (im freaking serious), doing PSLE and countless others. Well, they are all shortlived paranoid hahahah. I have no bloody reason why i blogged like this today, its like random stories linked together holy cow hahaha.

Hahaha. I still remember this dumb conversation i had with Shazwan last week. It was my first time in months writing a date on a class assignment. So i thought hard, wrote the date (15/8/08) and exclaimed, "What the hell!!! Its August already?!!!" To which, Shazwan obviously replied, " Dude its october already la!!!"
Holy cow. To my amazement, i even wrote 2008. I think i wrote this years' date like 4 times at most, cos i dont write dates on assignments ever since they 2000. Its hard to adjust from writing 97, 98, 99 to 00 01 02 etc!! Yep, maybe next yr, i'll start abandoning the idea of dates altogether. 10?!!! What the hell right. Just when i was adapting to 00s life, the 10s are gonna arrive in 4 months time. Oooopss, honestly, i thought it was 4 months hahahahahha, but i didnt wanna backspace cos its too damn funny and it totally sums up this post. TIME FLIES hahahaha.
Yeah, last week was farewell assembly. More like good riddance assembly. I have no idea why i feel so detached from PJC. Maybe cos everything is so fake there and there's no identity and shit. From the get-go, i realised that the school has no soul hahaha. In comparison, HKPS and FJSS is freaking ALIVE!!!! Still dunno why. Gotta think about it, and i know its not my imagination. There really is something wrong with PJ hahaha. Yeah, love the teachers there though. Amusing bunch of adults. And my class isnt that bad. No complains.
Okay la, just kidding. I love my classmates hahahahahahaha. All of them!!!! hahahahaha. Gonna be sad to know that I wont be laughing at Berhan and Spencer's nonsense in class anymore. Or if im in a mood for the philosophical and deep conversations, i can just sit beside Grace who'll entertain me the whole lesson with some of her experiences. There was more of that last yr though, when we're all fooling around. And there's shazwan, who's the resident Mat of the class and makes history tolerable. Then of course, the trio at the side. They're always the ones who listens to my lame jokes and keeping me alive. Yep, a comedian is only as good as his audience enjoys him. I must be a pretty great comedian then, cos you guys enjoy my jokes, right? right? RIGHT? yea knew it =D And of couse, the minahs. Even the minahs in our class are tolerable. And i hate minahs. hahahahaha. To all those i nvr specifically mention (yifang, sihui, debby, stephanie, suanne, hazique, sheena, jiali, lisa manji) .... i have nothing to say to you, cos i already specifically mentioned you guys! see what i did there? HOHO
Actually the class quite fun la. Maybe being a history student determines the fun, cos all i can see from the lit ppl are emotional dramatic stuff. But if u guys take all that emotional shit away, EVERYONE in the class will eventually admit that lessons are actually quite fun hahaha especially gp. The most memorable thing was, for those involved, were our deep, detailed and usually thorough discussions during breaks. Maybe thats the thing im gonna miss most. MAYBE. Maybe i'll just have to enjoy these 3 weeks of studying for A's cos when time eventually flies and i find myself in the bunk of some weird room sometime next year, I'll miss this times of freedom!
